September 24 - October 14, 1993
Cambridge Center Gallery
42 Brattle Street, Harvard Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts

THE SHOW

Neo is a collection of seventeen new photographs by John Pezaris presenting work which has not previously been shown. Most of the images are 11-by-14, mounted in 16-by-20 frames; there is one 30-by-42 color enlargement. Ilford film (Delta 100 and FP-4 plus) was used for the black and white work, Kodak (Ektar 100 and Kodachrome 64) and Fuji film (Fujichrome 50 and 100) for the color work.

THE ARTIST

John Pezaris is working towards his Ph.D. in Computer Science at MIT. Photography is one of his extracurricular interests, and has become a mainstay creative outlet for him. He has shown previously on Newbury Street and in Cambridge.

FROM THE ARTIST

These photographs, particularly the portraits, represent new ground. I've tried to push my perceptions and continue to develop a sense of three-dimensional form. Viewers familiar with my previous work will see a clear extension of the thematic content of movement, structure, and implicit community. The gem of the show, for me, is the poster size enlargement of the Blue Doors image. Please contact me at john [at] pezaris [dot] com for further information.
